Frizz + Co is a new Canadian haircare brand aiming to start a haircare revolution for people with curly and coily hair. Their debut product is a nourishing hair mask , formulated from natural ingredients to revitalise and hydrate textured hair, and encourage people to celebrate their natural curls in all its beauty.
We recently had the pleasure of working alongside Frizz + Co's founder, Daphné, to bring the brand's beautiful new ecommerce store to life and it was such a dream project to work on. Working in partnership with her, a copywriter and a photographer, we created the overall vibe and aesthetic of the brand, taking inspiration from her existing identity and stunning packaging. The brief was to create a clean and contemporary aesthetic, with a mix of typographic styles and a mood-board kind of feel. A key element was also a focus on the hair itself, through bold and beautiful images of hair texture, and video that shows its movement, via models shaking their hair.
After developing a series of visual concepts to show different directions of look & feel, we then worked with Daphné and her copywriter to ensure that the tone of voice and messaging was perfect, before proceeding to being the build on Shopify. Custom typefaces were added to bring in her brand identity, and thousands of lines of code helped to customise the theme so the site feels completely bespoke.
One of the key aspects of the hair mask is the carefully curated ingredients that Daphné has picked, ensuring that they are natural ingredients and free from any harsh chemicals. Combining both the science behind the unique composition and the idea of botany and plants, we selected hand-drawn illustrations to reference some of the key ingredients, with in-depth explanations of the benefits of each.
